WRO UAE National Robot Olympiad - 2021

WRO UAE National Robot Olympiad is the national version of the international World Olympiad, which is a prominent technology event for students to showcase their technical skills and take part in an excellent learning experience that develops their capabilities.

In line with the UAE’s strategy to prepare a new generation of talent as we transition to a competitive knowledge-based economy, ADEK was appointed the National Organiser of WRO in 2008. Through this event, ADEK aims to help students develop their creativity and problem-solving skills, encourage them to be the future scientists, engineers, makers and inventors and introduce the concept of modern science into educational activities.

It is the aim of WRO to bring young people from all around the world together to develop their creativity, problem solving skills and other soft skills. This is done through engaging, yet challenging educational robotics competitions

UAE Flag Day - November 3

The UAE Flag Day is a national occasion where people of the UAE remember the efforts of the founders of their State, Sheikh Zayed and Sheikh Rashid, and their brothers who sacrificed everything for the sake of their nation. It is a day when the national spirit is renewed, and an occasion to reflect on the achievements of the era of the President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Facts about UAE Flag

The UAE flag was designed by a young Emirati, Abdullah Al Maainah, in 1971, as part of a competition in Al Ittihad newspaper.The young Emirati intended the four colours to represent Arab unity, as described in poetry written by Safi-u-ddin Al Hali.These are red for courage, green for hope, white for honesty and black for strength of mind.His submission beat more than 1,000 entries vying to become the new nation's emblem. Mr Al Maainah was 19 at the time, and later went on to become the minister of foreign affairs

The UAE flag represents meanings of justice, peace, tolerance, power and moderation, under which all Emiratis live a decent life and enjoy security and stability. This comes in continuation of the legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan
