Abu Dhabi Polytechnic, affiliated with the Institute of Applied Technology, received the Academic Accreditation from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research for the Diploma and Higher Diploma in Air Traffic Management.

 The institute released the two degrees, and for the first time in the country, through Abu Dhabi Polytechnic's branch in Al Ain in the premises of the former Al Ain International Aviation Academy in collaboration with Global Aerospace Logistics (GAL).

Fatima College, affiliated with the Institute of Applied Technology, decided to extend the nominations period for the new batch of UAE national female students until 31 January, 2013. This is based on the request of the parents to open the door for more female students to enrol in a specialized college study in six medical fields in both branches in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain.

Students with their iPads

The Institute of Applied Technology in Abu Dhabi distributed iPad devices to the students among its strategy to establish an integrated eLearning system in the UAE. Approximately 4850 male and female students will benefit from this initiative which is the first in the Middle East.

Dr. Abdullatif Al Shamsi, Managing Director or IAT, revealed to Al Ittihad that the e-Learning System became an indispensable strategic option to IAT or other institutes of higher education in the country.

ATHS @ NASA

The UAE’s first ever all-female team returned after successfully completing on-site space training at the Space Centre Houston, organised and coordinated by Space Ed-Ventures.

Space Ed-Ventures, a locally based educational platform and the region’s only space exploration programme, organised a once-in-a-lifetime training session for 24 aspiring engineers, researchers and astronauts between the age group of 12 and 18. After a rigorous screening process, the all-girl cohort was selected to train at the Space Centre Houston.

576 male and female students from the Applied Technology High Schools received degrees of honors and excellence in the first semester, out of which 136 students in the honors list.

Both lists are within the initiative launched by the Institute of Applied Technology to motivate the 4517 ATHS male and female students to continue to compete among themselves towards academic distinction and permanent excellence.
