An Emirati student at the Institute of Applied Technology, Obaid Tahnoon, devised a racetrack for cars which can help detect the power of the car's engine and exhaust ratio. It will also determine how environment-friendly the car is in addition to a comprehensive examination of used cars in no more than three minutes.

Academic Week was held from August 18th to Aug 20th. All ATHS and STS school teachers participated in the three-day professional development forum which was designed to improve the quality of teaching and learning across all campuses. Academic Week offers new and returning teachers the opportunity to attend a series of professional development workshops. The purpose of the Professional Development event is for all teachers to receive exposure and become familiarised with best practices and new scientific and artistic methods, for implementing technology and specialized materials in a comprehensive framework, for effective education curricula.  

Abu Dhabi Polytechnic, an affiliate of the Institute of Applied Technology, has concluded a partnership agreement with Siemens, which is specialized in the fields of Electronic & Electrical Engineering, to provide advanced industrial and professional training to the Mechatronics Technology Bachelor Degree students of "Abu Dhabi Polytechnic".
